UniOwl Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between UniOwl Co., Ltd. (“UniOwl”, “we”, “our”, “us”) of 22/4 Ban Suan Maha Wong Soi 4, Phra Khanong Tai, Phra Khanong, Bangkok 10260, and any person (“you”, “your”, “User”) who accesses or uses the UniOwl website, mobile site or any associated services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By creating an account, submitting an application, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 15 years old.
  • If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use the Platform only with permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

3. Description of Services

UniOwl is a study-abroad search and application platform that lets Users compare international programmes, estimate tuition and living costs, and submit digital applications (including supporting documents and fees) to partner universities (“Services”). UniOwl is not itself a university and does not guarantee admission.

4. Account Registration

You agree to:

  1. provide accurate, current and complete information;
  2. keep your login credentials secure; and
  3. promptly update any information that becomes inaccurate.

UniOwl may reject, suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

5. Fees & Payments

  1. Course-specific fees. Some programmes require payment of application or service fees (“Service Fees”). The exact amount and any programme-level refund rules are displayed on the programme page and again at checkout before you submit.
  2. Refund policy.
    • Standard rule — Service Fees are normally non-refundable once an application is submitted.
    • Exceptions — You may request a refund if:
      1. the destination institution cancels or no longer offers the programme;
      2. your student visa is refused and you provide the official refusal letter within 30 days; or
      3. UniOwl fails to forward your complete application to the institution within 10 business days of payment.
    • Programme-specific overrides. Certain universities may publish their own refund windows or administrative deductions. Where they differ from the standard rule, the university’s policy shown on the programme page will prevail.
    • If none of the above applies but you believe there are extraordinary circumstances, please contact UniOwl Support before the programme’s application deadline; we will review your request in good faith.
  3. Payments. All payments are processed via approved payment gateways; you authorise UniOwl and its partners to charge your selected payment method for the amount shown at checkout. You are responsible for any bank fees, currency conversion charges, or taxes levied by your payment provider.

6. User Content & Licences

  1. User Content” includes all documents, data and materials you upload (e.g., identity documents, transcripts, essays).
  2. You retain ownership of your User Content.
  3. You grant UniOwl a world-wide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, translate, format and transmit your User Content to universities, scholarship providers and service partners for the purpose of delivering the Services.
  4. You represent that you have the legal right to upload the User Content and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • upload false or misleading information;
  • use the Platform for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose;
  • attempt to access other Users’ data;
  • interfere with Platform security or integrity.

8. Suspension & Termination

  • Our rights. We may suspend or terminate your account (with or without notice) for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or legal/regulatory reasons.
  • Your rights. You may delete your account at any time via the settings page or by emailing contact@uniowl.co.
  • After termination we may retain your data as required by law or partner institutions, then delete or anonymise it.

9. Intellectual Property

All Platform software, text, graphics and data (excluding User Content) are owned by UniOwl or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. No rights are granted except as expressly set out in these Terms.

10. Disclaimers

  • The Platform and Services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.
  • UniOwl makes no warranties that (i) programme information is error-free, (ii) the Platform will be uninterrupted, or (iii) any User will be admitted to a university.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniOwl’s aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of THB 10 000 or the total Service Fees you paid to UniOwl in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to liability.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UniOwl, its directors, employees and partners from any claims or damages arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by Thai law.
  • Any dispute shall be submitted to the courts of Bangkok, Thailand, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the Platform or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
